Learn on things that actually ship.

We take a small number of engineering students onto real projects — the same products customers pay for, on the same bench as the people who design them.

What it is

Not a shadowing exercise.

You will be given work that matters, reviewed by whoever would otherwise have done it. If your board is the one that goes into the prototype, it goes in with your name on it.

Real projects

You work on products in development, not a parallel exercise invented to keep interns busy.

Close supervision

A small team means you sit next to the engineer reviewing your work, not three layers away.

The whole path

Specification, design, prototype, test, build. Most interns see every stage because the projects are small enough to.

Where you could sit

Four benches.

Which one depends on what you are studying, what you have already built, and what is in the workshop when you arrive.

Power and analogue

Output stages, supply design, transformer specification. The bench where a generator either works or does not.

Embedded firmware

Microcontroller firmware, sensor interfacing, front panel logic, connectivity. Code that has to run unattended.

Aerial systems

Airframes, propulsion, flight control integration and payloads, from concept through flight testing.

Test and instrumentation

Building the rigs that prove a product behaves — capture, compare, pass or fail.

Who it suits

What we look for.

  • Electronics, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical or computer engineering students
  • Someone who has built something outside coursework — however rough
  • Comfort with being wrong in front of people, and fixing it
  • Enough curiosity to ask why the circuit does that, not just whether it passes

Being straight with you

We are a small company. Places are few, and we only take people we can actually supervise — an unsupervised intern learns nothing and slows the bench down.

Terms, duration and whether a place is open at all depend on what is in the workshop at the time. Ask, and you will get a direct answer rather than a form response.

Tell us what you have built.

Email us with your course, your year, and one thing you have made — a project, a board, a script, a repair. That single paragraph tells us more than a CV does.
